This
35' trimaran was one of my favorites to do.
It was based on my own wildly successful trimaran,
but with all the improvements that years of
racing and cruising that boat showed. The original
tri was my livaboard home after I graduated
from Architecture school, but it was also among
the fastest sailboats in Seattle for many years.
This
design has all the features that make up a great
tri; wide amas way out there, a deep board and
rotating mast. Inside it has a double on starboard,
a single on port and another forward. Aft it
has another double; the master stateroom. What
a great place to relax and watch the ocean zoom
past.
Construction
is the very rapid CM plywood/epoxy method. Large,
flat surfaces have core material to give extra
stiffness.
The
foundation plans as shown below are hand drawn,
but the bulk of the construction sheets are
continuously updated on computer.
