This
trimaran was designed to prevail on the race course
and also let the family go cruising for extended voyages.
The hulls are foam/glass to keep cost down, but the
beams are carbon fiber and balsa core for extreme rigidity.
The mast is rotating. The companionway has
double doors against breaking waves. Down
below find a generous stateroom aft with queen size
berth and ample storage. Ahead
of that, a nav station on port and head on stbd. Amidships
is a galley on port and sit-down seating for 6 on stbd.
Ahead of the main beam is crew quarters and all the
way forward is sail storage.
This tri really flies, but it can also take a whole
family cruising.
"I sailed
on Faamu Sami, a custom Kurt Hughes 46' tri, this past
weekend and there's no wire in the standing rigging.
BTW, the race was from Falmouth, ME to Yarmouth, NS,
180 mi. We set a course record, lowering the time from
18 hrs 35 min to 12 hrs 20 min. It was a blast!"

country.)
